From next year, Australia will have the largest marine park in the world (the Coral Sea where the Great Barrier Reef is).

Last night’s ABC’s 7.30 Report aired this great story on the proposed Coral Sea Marine Reserve, watch it here:

Dr Sylvia Earle, a world-leading oceanographer said, ‘There’s another whole Australia that most people don’t fully appreciate. It’s blue. And it is filled with life. There are fish there – nowhere else on Earth. Crabs there – nowhere else on Earth. Systems there – nowhere else on Earth. Just here.’

Time to get the snorkel out, throw on the swim shorts and get out into Shelley Marine Reserve.  Time to book a trip to Ningaloo.  Time to charter a yacht in the Whitsundays with dive kit on board.
